European Penitentiary Training Academies Network
The EPTA Annual Conference was organized on 21-23 September 2021 in Warsaw by the Polish Academy of Justice on the theme “Prison Service in Time of COVID: Impact on training and teaching”.
2020 has been marked by the outbreak of the global COVID-19 pandemic. We have all felt the changes in our everyday life that have been forced on us because we have limited the spread of the virus. The Prison Service, like other state services, was involved in protection and rescue activities. Officers often had to show flexibility and assume duties that went beyond the proper and assigned scope of activities.
During the annual meeting of the EPTA network, there was an opportunity to exchange information and debate on the place of the Prison Service in the state security system in crisis situations.
