When individuals or teams find themselves in stressful situations during their professional practice, which may lead to various disorders, it helps to acknowledge or explain in understandable words what is happening to the mind and the body. These changes are considered to be normal reactions to extraordinary events that will remain for a several days, and in most cases will recover back to the norm. This knowledge is useful for all persons, working in the prison service, in order to understand themselves, but also to help and understand others.
To prepare for this seminar, the participants are asked to remember of a stressful situation they have experienced or observed and describe it according a given scheme. Each situation will be shortly analysed by the facilitator. The participants can also ask for a feedback on their English language skills.
