Cooperation between the University of Justice – Poland and the National Correctional Officers Training School “Constantin Brâncoveanu” Târgu Ocna – Romania
In 2022, the National Correctional Officers Training School „Constantin Brâncoveanu” Târgu Ocna – Romania signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the University of Justice from Poland.
In this regard, the Romanian school hosted two study visits, from 9 May – 10 May 2023 and 10 October – 11 October 2023, for two groups 20 students, university staff, and prison staff members from the Polish prison system.
The main objective of the study visit was to exchange information on the training activities of the school as well as on specific aspects of the Romanian prison system.
Thus, the Romanian teachers offered the guests information regarding the training process, as well as regarding general aspects of risk assessment and security in Romanian penitentiaries.
The guests had the opportunity to visit the school and find out more things about the infrastructure that supports the training process. They also visited Târgu Ocna Penitentiary Hospital and could make a comparison of the conditions and the activities that are carried on in the Romanian and Polish prison systems.
Besides the discussions regarding risk evaluation and assessment in the Romanian prisons, the Polish students had the opportunity to interact with the Romanian students in order to exchange information regarding the training they undergo in order to have the necessary knowledge and skills for the career they have chosen.
