Training Centre of the Corps of Prison and Court Guard in Slovakia in cooperation with the HR Department of the General Directorate prepared and delivered pilot courses on Dynamic Security. The course was organized in one of the largest Slovak prisons in Leopoldov in December 2021 and January 2022 for three groups. The design of the course was inspired by the EPTA Training Manuals developed within the project ‘Tackling Gaps in Cross-Border Cooperation for Penitentiary Training Academies’.
The scope of the course Dynamic Security was scheduled for three days through which the participants focused on development of social skills. These skills and competences should help the uniformed staff to prevent conflict situations with inmates and if they occur, to manage them effectively with confidence. Participants from each group appreciated the design of the course, its content, interactivity and professionalism of the trainers. After the positive feedback on the pilot course, there is an idea to make Train the trainers’ course on Dynamic Security for participants from each prison in Slovakia. Consequently, these trained representatives would deliver the Dynamic Security course in each prison in Slovakia.
