Freedom of religion or belief is a universal human right. This also apply if you are serving a prison sentence and the right to practice your religion shall be respected as far as it is possible. This includes possession of religious literature, visits from religious representatives and the right to live by religious rules and traditions. Training of prison officers includes how different laws and rights interact with each other and often how to combine the interest of safety and security with the right of religious freedom. Religious representatives can be either employed by the prison service or brought in from the outside.
